I was asked to do a scripture reading in this evening’s Maundy Thursday service at my church. I was honored to take part, and the service itself was moving and beautiful. Sometimes I am very glad the Methodist Church kept some of the trappings from the “mother” church. The “stripping of the Church” part, and the congregation leaving the sanctuary in complete silence almost had me in tears. Sometimes the symbolism speaks better than words.
But, speaking of words, the scripture that I was asked to read was from
Genesis Exodus 12 (must have been tired when I wrote this), when God is giving instructions to Moses concerning the Passover.
I can’t tell you how tempted I was to use my John Facenda voice.
C’mon. You know that would have been cool.
I think Kat’s “alteration” may have rubbed off on me.
