The West End Private School Summit

This is weird (maybe only to me).

Every Thursday, I reward the children for behaving in choir practice the night before by letting them get a treat (candy, cookies; something NOT healthy) and a drink at a convenience store on the way home from school.  The kids really look forward to this, and they actually do pretty well in choir, amongst many distractions.  Because it’s on the way, we always stop at the Mapco that’s right in front of where HG Hills used to be on West End/Harding/Whatever its’s called at that location.  The place used to be a BP.

I sometimes forget that there are quite a few private schools in that area.  So every Thursday, about 3:30, there is a summit meeting of private school kids and their parents at that Mapco.  I see lots of Ensworth kids, Overbrook, St Bernard Academy, even a few St Cecilia, Harding Academy and MBA kids.  For some strange reason, all of us are drawn to that particular Mapco.

I try so hard not to judge groups of people, but the Ensworth kids act like their parents own the place.

Upon further reflection, they probably do.
